The UK postal market is set to see a graduate jobs boost, with Royal Mail's key competitor TNT Post announcing expansion plans.
TNT Post is planning to invest £3 million in sorting and processing technology, and hopes to add 1,000 employees - including new client managers and operational staff - to its workforce.
The business, which currently handles around 280 million items every month from its five regional offices, will add a new centre in Northern Ireland to its fold in the autumn.
The Dutch-owned group also plans to set up a central distribution hub for improving efficiency and increasing capacity.
TNT, which has been in the postal market for six years now, has an impressive customer portfolio including the likes of Centrica and BT.
