Around 40 new jobs will be created by a wind energy firm at its renewables base on the outskirts of Glasgow by the summer, providing challenging opportunities for young graduates in the area.
Scottish first minister Alex Salmond unveiled a cash assistance of £1.5 million for Gamesa's planned offshore wind technology centre.
The 40 new hirings will be meant for engineering roles, and the requirement may go up to 100 by the end of the year.
A total of 180 people are likely to be employed at the facility once it launches all its operations.
The unit, which is due to be officially opened in the autumn, will come up at Strathclyde Business Park. The recruitment process has already started.
Gamesa chairman and chief executive Jorge Calvet said: "Our offshore plans could generate significant local, skilled and sustainable jobs over the coming years.
"I would like to recognise the support and commitment from the Scottish Government and its development agencies during the ongoing discussions around these investment plans."
