The Northern Ireland Government has introduced a new software training programme, which is specifically designed to help graduates gear up for hi-tech jobs.
The Software Testers Academy training programme was developed by Stormont departments, in collaboration with top IT firms. It will also include a company placement.
Employment and learning minister Stephen Farry and enterprise minister Arlene Foster officially launched the software testing and quality assurance course.
Through the programme, which will run for 14 weeks, the government is hoping to create new information technology professionals who would help to boost the economy.
This comes after a study by Invest NI highlighted a lack of skilled workers in sectors including pharmaceuticals, telecoms and financial services.
A pilot project, valued at nearly £65,000, will be delivered by the South Eastern Regional College.
