People looking for graduate jobs in the retail sector may want to consider Poundworld after the company announced it is to create 1,800 new jobs across the UK.
The discount retailer said it is expanding its Discount UK brand, which it hopes will fill the hole left by Woolworths.
Currently there are 13 Discount UK stores around the country but Poundworld is hoping to grow this by a further 15.
Items in the store range from 28p to £25.
Chris Edwards, buying director and Discount UK founder, said: "Woolworths offered variety and value and when it closed we felt we could step into its shoes with a modern multi-price format."
Meanwhile, Poundland will also be expanding, opening another 40 stores over the next year after achieving a 42% increase in sales to £132.9m in the 12 months to March.
