Renfrewshire is in the race for a new biotechnology plant that can provide exciting job opportunities for young graduates in the area.
California-based Life Technologies has shortlisted Renfrewshire along with locations in the US and China.
Renfrewshire's workforce and track record put it in a strong position to beat off competition, according to Life Technologies officials.
The US bioscience giant already has a unit at Inchinnan, near Glasgow Airport, that mainly focus on the manufacture of cell culture. As many as 500 people have been employed here.
The proposed new plant will form part of the company's plans to invest heavily in high-tech manufacturing, which includes the development of personalised medicines based on genetic analysis.
