Graduate scheme places 'filling up' - graduate jobs

Graduates looking to get onto the Ernst & Young graduate trainee scheme have been urged to get started early, as the firm has received 3,200 applications for its next 800 places.

The accountancy firm has seen applicant numbers rise by 140% on last year's figures.

To secure a place, candidates have been urged to get organised. Arranging your CV to perfection, obtaining work experience and applying early are all crucial if you hope to be successful.

The company's head of graduate recruitment, Stephen Isherwood, said: "Having already received four applications for every place on our graduate trainee scheme, students need to get organised if they want to secure their dream job after finishing university and start applying for vacancies".

Work experience placements with the firm have also been hugely oversubscribed - some 1,700 students have applied so far for 750 places throughout the course of the coming year.

The firm expects the applications to keep pouring in - the number of students attending its events held at university campuses has soared by 25%.
