Graduates looking to work in the pharmaceutical and computing industries will be interested to hear that 300 jobs are to be created in Ireland by the expansions of pharmaceutical firm Allergan and IT consultancy Accenture.
The jobs have been described by Taoiseach Edna Kenny as a significant boost to confidence in the graduate job market that will help the path to economic recovery
IT consultancy firm Accenture will be offering 100 new graduate jobs as it moves to expand its operations, providing nationwide support to help clients cut costs and increase efficiency.
Multinational US firm Allergan plans to employ 200 new staff in Ireland as part of a 135 million euro investment needed to meet the increased demand for its Botox treatments of migraines and incontinence.
When attending Allergan's Westport facility for the announcement of the new jobs, Mr Kenny said: "Allergan's Westport facility is an important strategic site in their network and contributes more than 50% of global revenues from a range of products manufactured here.
"The expansion of this facility is a much needed boost for the region and will bring further high quality jobs to the west of Ireland."
