A global financial services firm has revealed plans to employ 20 new graduates during the first quarter of 2012.
FNZ is planning the recruitment drive at its Scottish headquarters after previously employing around 200 people in Edinburgh since 2010.
The new headquarters was officially opened by First Minister Alex Salmond on Thursday, only a day after fresh figures showed unemployment grew by 19,000 in the three months to November.
Christian Dougal, FNZ director, highlighted how the company will provide great opportunities for graduates, despite the current gloom.
He said: "Despite reports of the worst economic slowdown in decades, at FNZ we're seeing tremendous growth."
Mr Salmond has also attributed large parts of FNZ's success in the area to the skills and abilities of students at Scottish universities.
"It's so fast-growing that when I was given this engagement last week there were 200 people employed. Today there are 210 - they've taken on another 10 Scottish graduates," he said.
