The Company

Centrica is all around you. We source, generate, process, store, trade, supply, service and save energy. Our work takes us all over the world, underground and out to sea. A top 30 FTSE 100 company with over 25 million customer accounts, we have a turnover of £22 billion and more than 34,000 employees. Together, we are achieving our goal to be the leading integrated energy company.

Parent company for a range of global brands

Centrica is a growing, integrated energy business, with a portfolio of brands that cover every aspect of our operations around the world.

British Gas and Direct Energy supply power and related services in the UK and US respectively.

Centrica Energy manages power generation and gas production operations to ensure we meet the day- to-day needs of our customers – from platforms in the Morecambe gas fields, to gas fired power stations and wind farms. We also source and extract the energy of the future to supply our UK customers while Direct Energy is expanding its gas and electricity resources for the needs of our North American customers.

Centrica Storage provides an important link between power generation and supply, operating Rough, the largest gas storage facility in the UK, and a partially depleted gas field under the North Sea supported by a gas processing terminal near Hull. Together these facilities represent over 70% of the UK’s total storage capacity, making us able to meet around 10% of peak day demand.

Where could you fit in?

Our vision is to be a leading integrated company in our chosen markets. If you want to sit back and enjoy the ride, Centrica won’t be for you. If, however, you’re up for big challenges and rewards to match, we’ll give you the support and training you need to deliver results in an increasingly competitive market.

Our graduate programmes have been designed to give you a broad grounding as you take on ‘real’ jobs across the organisation. In fact you could be getting involved in any area of the energy lifecycle – from exploration and production with Centrica Energy, to front-line customer service at British Gas – although your exact role will depend on which of the schemes you join. It all adds up to an award-winning programme. And an organisation that’s been named the NCWE Best Work Experience provider and one of the Times Top 100 Graduate Employers. But don’t just take their word for it. Find out what some of our current graduates think by clicking here
