About us

The Asphalt Group are specialists offering a range of Pavement Performance Products and services that includes GlasGrid Asphalt Reinforcement – Asphalt Preservation and Surface Dressing. Our clients include Local Authorities, Highways England, Ministry of defence and Civil Aviation. Our GlasGrid Asphalt Reinforcement system is manufactured by Adfors, Saint Gobain, a £52 billion turnover company and they provide us with a wealth of technical support and expertise from their international experience.

Main purpose

The Account Manager is responsible for the specification of GlasGrid Reinforcement Systems, Asphalt Preservation and Surface Dressing or PPP (Pavement Performance Products) within an agreed territory of the south of England. They must also establish plans and strategies to expand the customer territory through the focused specification of our range of pavement performance products within Local Authorities, and other relevant bodies.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • You will develop and implement an annual sales strategy.
  • You will prepare weekly action plans for effective search of leads and prospects.
  • You will regularly prepare PPP specification forecasts for focus across the business.
  • You will update and maintain all customer details on our CRM system.
  • You will attend monthly sales meetings.
  • You will organise CPD specification presentations to potential clients in the southern territory.
  • You will manage specification accounts and building relationships with key personnel in the southern territory.
  • You will arrange & attend meeting with decision makers within the southern territory accounts to facilitate the specification of our PPP.
  • You will take decision makers out to site to see company operations being performed.
  • You will organize on-site visits for decision maker to present our products and services and to view operations being performed.
  • You will attend sites to meet engineers to ensure on-site work in performed in line with the Company quality standards.
  • You will network with relevant parties to secure extensive and ongoing PPP business opportunities.
  • You will ensure internal company functions provide the highest levels of customer service to the southern territory accounts.
  • You will investigate and resolve queries and issues raised by national accounts.

  • You have an understanding of Customer and Market dynamics with an ability to grasp different procurement methods for specification on highway maintenance, although training will be give.n
  • You have program management skills.
  • You are driven, proactive & enthusiastic personality

  • You are a quick learner
  • You have a full and clean driving license.
  • You have a willingness to travel and stay away from home where necessary.
