We have an exciting opportunity for those with a genuine interesting in developing a career within internal audit to join our highly respected, forward thinking organisation! This role is a fixed term appointment of 3.5 years to cover the duration of the apprenticeship.
Upon completion of the qualification, there will be the opportunity to become a permanent member of the team and move to the next grade within the Agency

Your work will directly contribute to our successful delivery of government objectives and business plans, playing a key part in managing public finances effectively and making a positive impact on society.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting and leading the planning of audit programmes, reviewing the key risks and priorities of customers, discussing their needs for risk management, including interviewing people from across the customer base about their work and activities
  • Recommending practical efficient actions for improving risk management and internal controls
  • Drafting and agreeing audit reports with the audit manager and the customer
  • Continuously improving your own development and performance and that of the wider team, participating in training and broader corporate activities

You will need the dedication to follow and successfully complete a fast paced but rewarding course of study, while also developing your skills in the workplace, putting studies into practice and proactively finding opportunities for you to develop yourself professionally. You will be working as part of a team and will need to be adaptable with strong interpersonal skills, but also be happy working independently.

You will study a 3-year part time Level 7 Internal Audit Professional Apprenticeship which leads to an MSc Internal Audit Management & Consultancy from Birmingham City University. You will receive extensive support to become an Internal Audit professional, including an induction to GIAA, membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors, a personal tutor and dedicated support to help you develop your skills plus, opportunities to attend conferences plus much more!
