Duration: 12 months.

Location: Hams Hall Battery Assembly Centre, Birmingham.

Hybrid working is potentially available, depending on the area and manager.

Jaguar Land Rover is a multi-site business and you’ll be required to spend time working with different departments at several locations.

On successful completion of the undergraduate programme, you will be considered for a place on one of our graduate programmes. If you are to be offered a place on the graduate programme you will be informed shortly after completing your placement. You would join the graduate programme in the September of the year in which you graduate.

Industrial Operations: Manufacturing

Manufacturing sits within our new Industrial Operations function. Our Industrial Operations function incorporates all teams across manufacturing, purchasing and supply chain and consolidates accountability for the complete ecosystem of how we produce our vehicles, in one place.

Manufacturing is at the very heart of Jaguar Land Rover, with thousands of vehicles being created every day across our production facilities. Here you will have the opportunity to influence the future of manufacturing. This scheme is aimed at undergraduates who have a passion for learning and a pioneering mindset: ambitious, innovative and determined individuals who respect our heritage and can think beyond the challenges of today to build the cars of tomorrow.

Battery Assembly Centre

Join our Manufacturing Undergraduate Programme - Battery Assembly Centre, you’ll work at our Hams Hall Battery Assembly Centre in Birmingham.

Our Battery Assembly Centre produces a wide range of propulsion systems that form the heart of all our vehicles – whether they have traditional internal combustion engines or pioneering battery electrification technology.

By joining our industry leading scheme, you will gain the skills to deliver the electric vehicles of tomorrow. Working on projects that are fundamental to our success, you will learn about everything from material planning to logistics, production operations, joining technologies and internal plant quality. Along the way, you will benefit from intensive training in lean manufacturing techniques, backed by unrivalled real-world experience that will free up your thinking and position you for a career at the forefront of innovation.

What’s required?

You will need to be on track to achieve at least a 2.2 degree in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) discipline (not including biology or life sciences).

You will have a real passion for problem solving and the curiosity to understand business challenges and deliver innovative solutions. You will also have strong numerical and interpersonal skills and the confidence to champion new initiatives.

Please note that our undergraduate placement opportunities are open only to penultimate-year students (those who will be returning to their final year of study after their placement with us). All our undergraduate programmes have a fixed start date, commencing 3 July 2023.

We haven’t yet confirmed our 2023 undergraduate programme salary, but in 2022 this was £19,452.
