Who is TJX Europe?
You might not have heard of TJX Europe, but you’ve probably heard of our brands – TK Maxx and Homesense. We’re part of the world’s leading off-price apparel and home fashions retailer – TJX Companies, Inc. We’ve an annual global turnover of over $35bn* and our business just keeps on growing.

Merchandising and Buying are the areas that make our business unique, and so they’re vital to our future success.

Responsibility from the start
As a graduate your journey will begin in the merchandising team, where you’ll learn about our business fully and begin to drive results in an entrepreneurial way from day 1.

This will begin with a comprehensive induction and training plan, including both classroom and practical workshops for you to understand how fundamental the partnership between Merchandising and Buying is in delivering value to our customers online and in store.

As you progress within Merchandising you’ll develop the knowledge, skills and relationships essential for you to reach your goal and make decisions that contribute to profitable sales. You will do all of this with the support of a huge network; including your manager, mentors and buddy.

Where can my career go?
We are an ambitious business with exciting expansion plans. We nurture and develop our people, we see the talent in everyone and consider everyone a potential leader of the future. You are encouraged and empowered to make decisions from the outset and learn quickly in our fast-paced environment. You will drive your own development and be fully supported along the way. We believe that by acquiring the skills needed in these early roles, you’ll set yourself up to be a great Merchandiser or Buyer in the future. At TJX it is important to us that our people gain a broad experience of the business, working in a number of different product areas, building relationships and communicating with lots of different Merchandisers and Buyers to learn what and how we do it!

The skills you’ll need
• A degree in any discipline
• Curiosity and passion for our business and retail
• Able to build strong and trusting relationships
• Ability to think outside the box and take risks
• Comfortable admitting your mistakes and learning from them
• Great communication skills
• Sharp commercial thinking and analytical skills
• Flexibility and able to thrive in a constantly changing environment where decisions happen quickly

Alongside the requirements listed above, if you have European language skills - particularly business level German or Italian – that would be great. And if you’ve lived and worked in mainland Europe, even better. In a business like ours, these are great assets to have.
